Old Passing Out Parade Photograph - April 1965
Permalink

Hello,

My father (Ray Dursham) joined the Royal Green Jackets in 1965, passing out from the Rifle Depot in April 1965.

I am trying to find out if it is possible to find/buy of copy of the group passing out photograph for April 1965.

If anyone has one or knows where to acquire one then I would be very interested in hearing from you.

Many thanks

Hi       Was your Dad in 3 RGJ        As I can remember A Surname of Dursham when we

were in Celle 68/70 and during the Cyprus tour of 70/71when He was on the MT

Did He have a Brother also serving in 3 RGJ

Going back to your request I am sure some one from that Passing Out Parade of that era

would be able to help

If not than I am sure if you can get in touch with Our DWM I am sure He would

put you on the right track as there happen to be a few POP of 65

Cheers and Good Luck in your search

Hi Bill,

Many thanks for your reply, it is most helpful.

Yes my dadwas in 3 RGJ and I believe was in Celle in 68/70.

There were two brothers, my father (Ray) and his brother Alan both serving in 3 RGJ.

My dad is always reminiscing about his time in the RGJ and has very fond memories of that time. Unfortunately he has no photographs from that time. I wanted surprise him at Christmas by at least getting hold of his passing out parade group photograph and joining him up to the RGJ association.

I'll let you know if I am successful in my search.

Many thanks

Kindest regards

Alan

Hi mate, I remember your dad very well, we played cards in Iserlohn c company then he seemed to go missing for a while,(probably to spend all his winnings!). Is he still in Liverpool? tell him to get in touch, I am in the phone book, Keith.
