Hello Toni,
Very sorry to hear about your dad and hopefully, I can help in some way.
I do not recall the name 'Richard George' but may have known him simply as 'Geordie'. I am not certain on this as 'all' our memories are now a bit 'Fuzzy' but I think I recall someone known as 'Geordie George'.
You mention 'John Patterson'. Would he be a fellow Geordie who we all knew as 'Geordie Patter' ? Also 'Brummie' could be a little stocky guy not much bigger than five foot, maybe 5" 4'.
If so, Geordie Patter, and Brummie, and myself where all put in the nick over christmas with a few others, (maybe your Dad) for causing a 'LOT' of trouble in the french sector in Berlin.
Ask your Dad if he remembers this ?
For my part, I am a scouser with red hair known in the Battalion as Jasper.
I hope this helps.
                       Regards, Jasper.

Hi Toni, yes I know it was wrong email, I suggested you keep posting here as more people will see it, and as I see tonight, that is the case. yes I was in 'R' company at the time in 10 platoon whose sgt was cloggie uyl.

What platoon was your dad in and what rank was he ? I think the sgt of 9 platoon was mick rattigan. Was your dad in canada after Berlin ? If so, does he remember the wagon crashing when a lot of lads got some bad injuries ?

Jasper.

Hi tony, yes we all went to caterham were we went on 'spearhead' and also played being firemen.
The first name that comes to mind from 'A coy' is Terry 'scouse' Mcanuff, or Macca.
I looked through the photos from 74 posted by Malcom Donnison but can not find your Dad. Could you have it wrong ?
Any further luck in your search ?

Regards, Jasper.

Alright Conksey, what about an email or summat ? Just got Chris Rumbles phone number and will be having a couple of beers in town, maybe just a couple of hours for now. Are you up for it ?
It was sad about Choggie, did not get to know till after. Have you any phone numbers for any of the 'pool' Lads ?
Get back to us then,
Regards to you and family, Jasper.
