Anyone seen or heard off the wearabouts of  Johnny " BRUMMIE" Stokes met in a pub in Streatham just wonder if he is still about. Would love to chat to him again and a pint or!!!!!!! biggrin

Bob       Is it the same Brummie Stokes who wrote the book Soldiers and Sherpas.    I will say it was a brilliant read and evry one else who has borrowed the book off me has said the same.     Cheers

Bob      Sorry I havent got the ISBN for soldiers and sherpas as it is on the borrow.   Any idea of the ISBN for soldiers on everest as I will ask my lad to have a look for me when He goes to waterstones.      Is it the same Brummie Stokes    Cheers

hi bill yes it is the same johnny stokes its the everest climb i dont where you can get from i went to the local library they got for me but go online google etc could that way. did you know stokesy? i served with him. bob

Bob      No I didnt know Stokesy as he left the Bn in early 66 when 3 RGJ was leaving NI and I didnt join the Bn till 67 when we were in Iserlohn.    Cheers

hi bill got the book off amazon and went to see john last week in hereford his looking good we had a chat and few cuppas, got the book signed his got a great place down there might take the gran kids next year. all the best
