OK I guess this is a bit of a stab in the dark . But!! i am trying to prove to my dad that the internet is a good thing and you can do all sorts of things with it . even find freinds from the past. My dad was in the 2nd bn Royal Green Jackets he was based in Munster Germany 1969 when i was born . if anyone out there was from the same BN or even if you are the son of someone from the same BN and time frame it would be great to here from you . I also now my dad was a dog handler in germany and he was looking after a dog called Danger . I know my dad would love to hear from people from this time in his life as i believe thay were is best memories to date . not sure if it helps but he was also serving in Panang before Germany . Thanks for reading guys. and sorry if this is the wrong place to do this but i just dont know were to start
I am the Hon Sec of the KRRC Association and I am pretty sure that if you can give me your Dads regimental details I can put him in touch with some of his old mates, and he can join our association which totals over 1'500 worldwide. I would need his full postal address, tel number, regimental number and length of service.
Kind Regards

As a old sort myself, i thought i would have a try at this internet thing that everyone goes on about. I am not very good with computers and my missus keeps telling me to get into it more so today i tought i would. Was doing some war research etc and just by chance googled my dads name and you guys came up. WOW what a shock this was. It would be great to hear from anyone that could share memories with me about the war or my dad. I was 2yrs old when we was in Germany and i remember every inch of the flat we lived in.
Any comments etc please feel free to contact me, i can wait to hear from you.
My name is Phil Cain. I too was born in BMH Munster in September 1969. My father was Peter Frederick Cain - he was a bandsman in 2RGJ and met my mother, Kim, whilst he was based in Penang. Unfortunately Dad passed away a few years ago but I know he spent his fondest times in the Green Jackets.
my dad served with the royal green jackets 2nd battalion in 1969. I'm actually trying to get in contact with the people that he hasn't already connected with. What's your dads name? mines Christopher Marshall
My Dad (Robin Evans) was in Munster and before that Penang. I was with him in both locations. My brother was born in Munster 1969. My Dad has dementia so can't remember much, but I am trying to piece together his time in the Royal Green Jackets as was too young to remember much. Also trying to find information about the military school in Munster
Hi just seen this post my dad trevor Chappell was in the 2nd battalion the royal green jackets in Munster and penang I have visited penang recently and looks just the same as in 1966, just like to add my mum and dad are still here but now live in Spain , love to hear from anyone that remembers them.
