I have done some checking into your request, and found that your Uncle was one of many OBLI that were killed in Winterswijk.
I will be seeing the Webmaster later and will try and get you some addresses /links to nearer your goal, as most of the lads on here are quite young (ish).
Many thanks for your help I did drive to Winterswijk in May 2011 to see Georges grave I have tried to get my Dad there for many years with no luck so went on his behalf as we new his health was failing sadly he passed away 12th Dec 2011 without ever seeing George's grave
Regards David
I have been informed that a gentleman called Mike Marr who is the Regimental Treasurer, might be able to give you some information as to ex Ox and Bucks Soldiers, as he was connected to The Ox and Bucks Association, which, sadly had to shut down.
There is also a reunion that stills attracts ex OBLI's, In which I am sure Mike will bring you up to date.
If you contact him just say Ken Ambrose and Mark gave you his details.
His Email is: oxford@the-rifles.co.uk (copy and paste to your email)
If you have any problems contacting him, please let us know.
this is where my family is from. a photo of your uncle's grave marker showed up on a historical society facebook page for Winterswijk today - march 30th is the 75th anniversary of the end of the war in this particular area. I couldn't make out where he was from, so i did a search and found this page. My family wouldn't likely be here if it wasn't for the sacrifice of soldiers like your uncle.
