Are we being censored? I was reading some very funny posts on here yesterday with what I thought showed that good old Green Jacket sense of irreverence and off the wall humour. It would seem they have now been removed. Why? If this site is going to be governed by one persons sense of what should or should not be published I think I will not bother to log on anymore. There was nothing offensive or insulting about the posts and we have a right to see them. This is after all supposed to be a site for serving and ex Riflemen. If your skin is that thin or you do not relate to our Riflemans humour than I suggest this site is not for you. Stop with the censorship! Swift and Bold.

I do not know what the content of the deleted entries were and nor did I personally delete them. However the occasions when this bulletin board would be censored are few but regretably they do exist as follows.
1. The use of bad language. This bulletin board is often visited by wives and girlfriends and we ask you to respect that by not using foul or abusive language.
2. Humour, that although funny to Green Jackets, is not thought of as being particularly funny to people from outside the regiment who have not lived through events sufficiently tragic enough to develope the humour necessary to handle them. I must remind you that this bulletin board is visible to anyone on the Internet. If we made this a members only board, as some might suggest, most of the ex RGJ users would not bother to access it.
3. Anything likely to bring disrepute to the RGJ Regimental Association. This includes the use of `flame wars` involving users slagging each other off.
4. Anything that deviates from the main purpose of the board which is that of making contact with people. Contacts is what it is called and contact is what we use it for! Jokes don`t belong here so it is possible that they have been moved to where they do belong! The reason for this is that when you look for contacts thats what you expect to see.
If you feel the need to participate in any of the above, with the exception of 3, you are welcome to obtain access to a specially secure bulletin board by applying to me at ken.ambrose1@btinternet.com . Within that board which is used only by former RGJ you may do as you wish with the exception of 3. above.
I hope you will agree that the above activities justify the need for some censorship on this very public Contacts board. If you do not agree then of course you are welcome to stop using it. This board was created by the web site team for the benefit of all. As we are the creators of this facility we must obey the rules of the RGJ Regimental Association as to its use and content. Incidentally, all such facilities are paid for by the Association which, as I am sure you will agree, gives the Association the right to determine the contents.
