Dear All, May I introduce myself as the Bandmaster of the above Band which is based on the style and sound of the now Rifles but was originally formed around the RGJ/Light Inf style. We have been operating in the Bournemouth and Christchurch area for 25 years mainly as a youth Band called Peninsula and have played at both the old and new Winchester Barracks. The Band changed to an adult band 12 months ago and joined the Christchurch Branch of the Royal British Legion but we retained the Light Division style and in particular we wear the Green Jackets and rifle caps, one of the few bands to undertake this style in the UK outside direct military linked units.Our aim is to maintain the sound and style of the RGJ/LI in both music and appearance, this last aspect is the reason for my e-mail. I am pleased to report that the Band is growing and I am in urgent need to locate Green Jackets size 26 and above and in particular for the next week two jackets 28 and 30 for a major RBL parade in Bournemouth. May I ask that you circulate your members with my request to see if any one in your Association can assit.
