hello ray, my dad was from birmingham,i don,t think my uncle as ever played rugby.my fathers best mate was [benny].i know he went to cyprus with the united nations.i think my mother as a picture of my dad being inspected by lord louis mountbatten.also one of his close friends died in an accident ,falling out of a truck. i think she might have some other photos which i will try and let you see.my dad passed away seven years ago and i just wanted to see if i could contact any of his mates.many thanks lee McDonnell.
Hi Lee Sorry for spelling your name wrong and saddened to hear your Father has died. I remember the Cyprus Tour with the UN very well, i am interested in any pictures of that tour.
I think your dad's friend who died in Northern Ireland in a Road accident was John Keeney he played Rugby with us and he was outside half, if i remember he was also very good at badmington and table tennis.
I remember first meeting your Dad in Berlin, we went to Cyprus and Canada. I think he got married when we were in Celle Germany, sorry i don't have any photo's of him.
I wasn't sure at first if you were the Raymondo, that I used to baby site for when we were station in Celle.(Nig days) Having first read your comments with Roy Hurley and a few others. I think I can safely say yes, it is you.
Well like you and I, our familys are all grown up leaving us old once to ponder on our happy memories. By the way give my best regards to thy good lady.
