I'm 99% positive I'm going to my first reunion this year since leaving 3RGJ in 1988. I need to find out about disabled access because of MS landing me in a wheelchair. So can anyone tell about ramps or disabled toilet facilities at the reunion venue?
I can be reached on Facebook or email at rpatey@dsl.pipex.com
There are indeed disabled toilets on the square it is all on the level soyou should have no problems, the only thing is the hill from the carpark but if you can get up that I feel sure you will enjoy a great day.
Thanks for that Harry. Frank Gannon also contacted me on FB to say that him and the other 2 Platoon lads will push me about if needed. Bearing in mind I am a big lump to be dragging around all day.
The only thing Richy is that if it is anything like last year you may well get bogged down on the square but we'll get a Warrior to pull you out, look forward to seeing you bud
Oh great, a grass square as opposed to a drill square? The joys of getting wheels stuck! You may need that Warrior even though I always preferred the 432, more my era.
Hi Rich, dont worry mate, if you get stuck I.l get you ouy of the rut. I remember in the late 80,s to early 90,s we met up in Uxbridge for a few pints ( A LOT OF PINTS ) in the " 3 Tuns " I was living in Hillingdon and you were in Eastcote. I used to drink with Jake Law in the " Crown and Mitre " a bit further down the road. See you at Winchester Saturday 10th. Cheers Rich. Mark
Don't you just love it when people talk about things you 0% memory of? I know how Martin Wilkes felt now when I asked him about a load of stuff that happened in Celle and Colchester.
Mark, a load of us are on Facebook, are you? If not get on there, it's been a revelation for me getting back into a world where people think "durch" is a real word.
Mark, something just came to mind that is a bit of a Twilight Zone moment.
Watford FC have a player called John Eustace and on Saturday I was talking about the squad to my missus and accidentally referred to John Eustace as Mark Eustace. Then I realised my mistake, corrected myself and then told her about this guy that I was in the army with that was called Mark Eustace. Then today I check this forum and here you are!
Hi Richy " Wheels " or IronSide or A.P.C. ( Armoured Patey Carrier ) I have just sent you another e mail. I hope it gets to you. The last one I sent came back to me. Never did get the hang of it. I will definately see you in winchester this year. Only 13 weeks left, I,d better start saving again. I spoke to Derek Goody last year. I,l keep in touch,. Cheers Mark
