He was my mother's cousin, and died in a road traffidc accident as a result of a riot in Northern ireland on 26/10/1969. We never really knew any details.his mother died a few years ago... I'd like to know more about him and what happened to him. I found his name on the wall in Alrewas.
Please look on this page two entries down from this one, put on by Sandy Wells, he has been looking for someone from Micks family. I hope you can attend the event
I served with Mick in the late 60's just prior to his death, and I was present when he was killed.
Could I please ask that you contact me either by phone or email ASAP.
For about a year now, we have been trying to trace relatives of Mick. We placed an article in a Bognor newspaper last year and were given a lead that pointed us to Mick's mother. We learnt of her death in 2000, and where she was cremated.
We are shortly, (March 30th) to honour the memory of Mick and the other soldier that died with him, at a ceremony at the National Arboretum. We have traced relatives of John, of the other soldier killed, and would very much like to have Mick's relatives present.
Hi Martin This is a long Shot - I lived in Bognor Regis from 1985 -2003 I knew a Family called Boswell - I moved to Cardiff in 2003 and I am still in touch with members of that family. If you have any details of Mick's Mother let me know and I can check. I Wonder???.
Gareth, please contact me. You went to all the bother of finding the RGJ site and posting a message.
There are quite a few of us who remember Mick Boswell, and will be gathering to honour your mum's cousin, on March 30th. Some of Mick's family in attendance, would make everyone's day.
I am currently researching my family tree. One of my father's cousins had this name - his cousin's parents were Myfanwy Boswell and Frederick Vincent Boswell. My grandmother's maiden name was Gladys Boswell.
Is this the same person? - sorry to bother you if I'm wrong!!
