This is Adam Kula of The News Letter; Northern Ireland's unionist daily paper.
This is a most unusual situation -- it is the second time in a week I have had cause to contact the association (the last was in connection with the Hyde Park Bombing).
I was made aware of the passing of Sir David House last week - it is of particular significance for us because he was GOC in Northern Ireland during the mid-1970s; a very tough period for our Province.
I have been hoping to contact anyone who knew him, either by reputation or in person, with a view to running a memorial / retrospective on his life - especially around his tenure in Ulster.
If anyone wishes to get in touch, please do so by calling the 02890 897724.
I have removed the posts responding to the above enquiry in the interests of public relations and preserving the good name of the Association.
I will be contacting Mr Kula by telephone to explain to him the difficulties of answering his requests in regard to both Lt Gen David House and the Regents Park bombing.
I regret that some people find it necessary to use sarcasm and think it clever to become mildly abusive to answer what was afterall a simple request made in good faith from someone trying to do his job.
I would remind those responsible that this is a public forum which can be viewed by anyone with access to the Internet and that such unconsidered remarks do nothing to enhance the reputation of the RGJ Regimental Association.
