A chap down the pub claims to have served with the Royal Green jackets but ask him for anything specific, like his Service Number and he says he cannot remember it. I reckon he has read too much Andy McNab. He is now starting to annoy people with tales of heroism and I would love to be able to show him up as a bull****ter! Is there any way I can find out if he did/didn't serve with the regiment?
His name is Eddie Morgan, not totally sure of the spelling of his surname and he may be Edmund or Edward. He looks mid 40s and reckons he did ten years from the age of 17 or 18, so would have been with you mid to late 80s to mid to late 90s. Are there any questions I could ask him that he must know the answer to, apart from his Service Number of course!
I was in 2 RGJ B Coy from 1980 to 1989 Minden/Netheravon ive never heard of another Morgan in our battalion in that period, as I would know with the same surname..
